The Hat-Box Journal: Shifting Things Around On A Few Blogs

Introduction (and Thanks for Visiting, By the Way)

For the most part, I'm not the type who would keep a journal, or post regularly on a blog for that matter. (Write? Yes, and write "tons". Journal? No, that's something different.) Sometimes people change, though; and sometimes people have times when they're going through "A Thing" of one sort or another. Since I don't tend to be the kind of person who changes very dramatically, I suppose, maybe (no, know) that I'm going through a number of "Things". And if not "Things", then at least situations/dilemmas that seem to bring on the urge to write some types of things that I'd otherwise not particularly have the urge to write.

Shifting Things Around On A Few Blogs

I'm in the process of trying to shift things around, and generally clean up this blog, as well as two others. I'm aiming to get a certain type of stuff limited to just the three blogs. From there I'll make additional adjustments of one kind or another.

Anyway, the two blogs are:

First Hand Perspectives (where I've been transferring some stuff from other sites/blogs (but, of course, that, in itself, is kind of a multi-layered project.

I'm trying to first loosely lump things together, without regard for any niche (if they're even "niche-worthy" at all; because there's a lot of cleaning and converting that has to be done with tons of old stuff. From there, I'll decided whether to bury some things behind layers of my own links (I have my reasons) or whether I'll find a way to give them a new lease on life somewhere other than on one of these three "non-niche" blogs.

"Causes-of-Sorts"

I have several "causes-of-sorts", and some are (in no particular order):

- that children are so often underestimated as separate little human beings

- that children are so often misunderstood

-that the court system is too often out-and-out abusive to children (and abusive, sometimes, over a period of years that may amount to most of, if not all of, a child's childhood; but that also can also have serious impact past the childhood or teen years and into adulthood)

- that the court system allows what it is called "legal abuse" of children and adults involved in any number of types of cases

- that elderly people are so often underestimated when they're so often perfectly capable (even more-capable-than-a-lot-of-younger-people) human beings

-that elderly people are so often misunderstood

-that women are so often underestimated, misunderstood, and/or generally not seen/treated as truly equal and capable adults

- that we seem to live in a "mental-health-crazy" society that places people from each of the above groups (and from some other groups as well) at risk of having their lives destroyed

Actually, I have quite a few other "causes-of-sorts" too (I'm not young, so I've picked up quite a few along the way), but what I've highlighted above should give any visitors a rough idea of the kinds of things I'll be posting on this site.)

Causes and concerns for others aside, I'll be adding some personal posts (which is why I've pointed out that thoughts here won't be making it into "The Book").

Sites Aiming to Address Those "Causes-of-Sorts"

These five sites are sites I've set up with the idea that I can eventually address the individual sets of issues adequately by combining material from some experts for whom I have high respect with my own posts/articles written either from research or extensive/long-term personal experience/exposure. The sites are quite new. I am, however, in the ongoing process of adding material; and I thought the less formal approach I'm using in this blog may help tie together all the subjects .
